Matt Eirich

President and Chief Executive Officer, Alo and Avance Care

Matt Eirich joined Alo as President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2021. He also serves as CEO of Avance Care. Throughout Matt’s 20+ year career in health care, he has built and scaled businesses to enable providers to capture emerging growth opportunities and transition to value-based care. Matt was drawn to Alo’s mission to help independent physicians thrive by redesigning how health care works.

Prior to joining Alo, Matt served as the first Chief Growth Officer for Humana’s primary care brands, CenterWell and Conviva, two of the largest senior-focused, value-based primary care businesses in the country. In that role, Matt was responsible for the growth of new and existing practices, including market expansion strategy, sales and marketing, payer contracting, patient experience, mergers and acquisitions and partnerships. The number of practice locations grew 400%. Earlier, Matt served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and led many of the company’s venture capital investments.

Matt has held a number of roles at The Advisory Board Company, a research, technology and consulting company serving over 4,500 partner health care organizations. Matt developed and launched a number of products and services to help providers grow their patient panels and transition to value-based care, patient engagement and satisfaction, population health analytics, referral coordination, care management and clinical IT optimization.

Matt is a B.A. graduate of Davidson College and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Paul Hain, MD

Chief Clinical Officer

 

Paul Hain, MD, joined Alo in October 2022 as Chief Clinical Officer. In this role Paul provides leadership and oversight of all of Alo’s clinical services and relationships. He advocates for comprehensive Primary Care to be at the center of the medical ecosystem and believes that patient safety, patient experience, and high-quality outcomes remain the cornerstones of great care. Leveraging his experience in both leading provider- and payor-based initiatives, Paul works to create and sustain high-performing practices and provider networks.  

Paul brings a wealth of experience as both a physician leader and innovator in value-based and ambulatory care. As VP for Population Health and Network Development at UT Southwestern and Dallas Children’s Hospital, Paul established a value-based care ambulatory clinic for children with chronic care needs. While still in Texas, Paul joined Blue Cross Blue Shield and was their Chief Medical Officer until 2020. During the pandemic, Paul was Chief Medical Officer for GoHealth, a Medicare Advantage focused corporation, where he helped develop the Encompass platform to better use data to supply primary care providers with actionable and timely data to improve the health of their patients. 

Paul completed medical school and residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Following residency, he founded Vanderbilt’s Pediatric Hospitalist Program. During his ten plus years on faculty, he held multiple hospital roles including Chief of Quality, Chief of Staff, and Director of Utilization Review. Paul also holds an engineering degree from Rice University and, prior to medical school, worked as a corrosion engineer in Alaska.   

Martel Campbell

Director, Strategy & Corporate Development

 

Martel Campbell joined Alo as Head of Strategy & Corporate Development in December 2021. He is responsible for leading long-term strategic planning, strategic finance, and corporate development initiatives including M&A, new growth and market expansion opportunities.  

Martel led business development activities at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina for two years before joining Alo. In this role he helped establish the company's Diversified Business Group and spearheaded the strategy development and execution of the Blue Cross NC and Deerfield Management joint venture, which led to the creation of Alo.  

Before joining Blue Cross NC, Martel held a number of corporate development and corporate strategy roles at The Advisory Board Company, Optum and UnitedHealthcare. 

Martel holds a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College. 

Matt Cox

Chief Growth Officer

 

Matt Cox joined Alo as Head of Growth in November 2022. He is responsible for leading growth and revenue opportunities for the company, while providing competitive thought leadership and strategy.

Matt has over 25 years of experience in healthcare business development, product management, solution design, operations, and team development. The son of a head and neck surgeon, Matt grew up in NC and worked for more than four years in his Dad's medical practice. Matt began his career in accounting, tax, and practice management consulting where he completed numerous physician practice standups and group practice mergers. He previously worked for Duke Health, 5-star plan Essence Healthcare / Lumeris, and as a strategic advisor within Deloitte’s Life Sciences and Health Care practice before joining the Alo team.

Matt holds a B.S. in Medical Humanities from Davidson College. He is a Board Member for Go Global NC and lives in Chapel Hill, NC.

Lisa Golden, MSHA, BSN, RN

Chief Operations Officer, Alo and Avance Care

 

Lisa Golden joined Alo as Head of Operations in December 2021. A highly accomplished health care executive and entrepreneur, she leads, builds and transforms organizations through strategy, inclusion and innovation. Her clinical roots in nursing anchor her passion for excellence in patient care. 

Prior to Alo, Lisa held multiple leadership positions within Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, where she advanced the organization’s mission, improved its performance and engaged and partnered with community physicians. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation Board of Directors, the PNC Advisory Board, the Children’s Advocacy Center Board of Directors and the Wilkes University Board of Trustees. She plans to continue her advocacy and community outreach work in North Carolina. 

Lisa holds an MSHA in Health Administration from Kings College and a B.S. in Nursing from Wilkes University. She is a Certified Healthcare Insurance Executive, has completed the AHIP Executive Leadership program and holds a certification from the American Case Management Association. She received the Distinctive Women’s Award from the Times Leader Media Group in 2019 and was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 COOs in Healthcare in 2018. 

Lisa also serves as COO of Avance Care.

Lynn Gordon

Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

 

Lynn Gordon joined Alo as Head of Legal and Compliance in January 2022. Throughout Lynn’s 25+ year career in health care law, she has worked extensively in forming health care companies, handling M&A and providing corresponding compliance support. Lynn was drawn to Alo’s mission based on her rewarding experiences in building and bolstering provider relationships focused on quality and value-based care. Lynn facilitates simpler provider navigation of a complex regulatory environment, so that physicians can focus on clinical care and patient relationships.

Prior to joining Alo, Lynn served as General Counsel for Novant Health Coastal Region and Chief Legal Officer and GC for its predecessor, New Hanover Regional. She also served in law firm legal/strategic advisor roles for 20 years, most recently as an Equity Partner and Health Care Department Chair, Chicago Office for Nixon Peabody, a Global/AmLaw 100 law firm.

Lynn has led over 75 formations, mergers and acquisitions of hospitals, health systems and physician practices—most recently New Hanover’s 7 hospital system restructuring and $2B sale to Novant Health, including New Hanover Medical Group (300+ providers).

Lynn also developed horizontally and vertically integrated delivery systems and supporting capitated and value-based care in the Chicago healthcare community for over two decades. This included providing legal/strategic guidance to Cook County Health and Hospitals System in developing/implementing its 1115 Medicaid Waiver Program—now an MCCN, CountyCare (with a $1.8B annual State contract).

Lynn holds a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, an M.A. from North Carolina State University and a B.A. from Michigan State University.

Jennifer Jordon

Clinically Integrated Network Director

 

Jennifer Jordon joined Alo as its Clinically Integrated Network Director in May 2023. She is responsible for spearheading the strategic evolution of the Alo CIN, ensuring that its technology, data analytics, care design, and physician engagement are all best in class, working optimally, and generating value to all.  

Prior to Alo, Jennifer spent over two decades working for Practice Management technology firms such as Altera Digital Health, Allscripts, and athenahealth. Her tenure involved overseeing enterprise accounts, directing seamless implementations, and guiding customer onboarding experiences to fruition.  

Jennifer is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and lives in Davidson, NC.

Angela Vaughn

Chief People Officer

 

Angela Vaughn joined Alo as Head of People Operations in October 2022. She is responsible for all aspects of the company’s human capital strategy.

Prior to this role, Angela was Vice President of Human Capital at S&S Health, where she developed and led their human capital strategy, supporting rapid growth through staffing initiatives, enhancing corporate culture, and developing programs and benefits. In addition to her experience at S&S, Angela built and ran human resources at Citra Health Solutions, a value-based care, shared savings organization (ACO).

In her career, Angela’s core focus has been on complex employee relations, resource engagement, performance management, stakeholder partnerships and building ground-up corporate HR teams. She has experience providing work stream leadership with governance over due diligence, business integration, planning implementation and project management. She’s recalibrated role functions, administered cultural assessments, and conducted and analyzed survey results within an organization to gain insights after executing a chapter 11 reorganization. She’s developed and implemented an awards program, a key component to a high-performance culture as part of a companywide strategy rollout to honor outstanding-performing employees with an emphasis on corporate values, and she’s led the transition of three P&C Business entities, post merger, to a Shared Services organization.

Angela holds a B.A. in Psychology from Purdue University.
